Mushtari was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 26 April 1985. Mushtari is principally involved in:-
(i) Onshore and Offshore Minor Fabrication - Pipe spool, structural steel, cargo handling equipments, blasting and painting, equipment installation, piping and structural steel erection and offshore hook-up and commissioning support;
(ii) Plant Shutdown Activities - Turnaround and maintenance, oleflex reactor overhaul, column, vessel, reactor & heat exchanger replacement and upgrading and modification of piping;
(iii) Maintenance and Repair Activities - fire water column, turbine, waste heat recovery system, launcher and receiver repair, etc; and
(iv) Manpower Supply - Offshore and onshore activities.
 Mushtari holds several Petronas licenses which cover, mechanical maintenance services, manpower supply, mechanical and electrical engineering for major and minor construction work and onshore construction/fabrication.
Mushtari owns and operates a yard located at Kawasan Perindustrian Telok Kalong, Kemaman measuring approximately 20,000 squares meters and also operates another yard in Kemaman Supply Base (“KSB”) approximately 6,673 square metres, for its fabrication works.
First Expansion
In 1987, Mushtari had concluded to lease from KSB a piece of land with 15,000 sq ft of covered warehouse and 2,000 sq ft of open yard. With the setting up of the new facilities, good track records and competent performance, Mushtari had earned trust and confidence from tenant companies within the supply base. Mushtari was able to provide prompt and efficient all round support services to the clients. This was the beginning to bid for high specification/quality complex fabrications and maintenance services jobs, ranging from substructure deck extensions, tanks, high and low pipe works, drilling rig repairs and upgrade etc.
Second Expansion
In 1989, additional space was leased from KSB, a 4,000 sq ft of open yard and 10,000 sq ft of workshop and blasting shed. More equipments were purchased to cope with the increasing demands of fabrications and maintenance services from existing Multi- National Oil & Gas and related companies, and petrochemical plants. Contracts were also secured from Labuan Petronas Methanol plant and Sarawak Shell Bhd.
Mushtari had received several safety awards in recognition of the safety records and job performance during plants shut down maintenance works.
Future Expansion
The demand for oil and gas world wide has expedited PETRONAS aggressively to jointly participate with Multi National Oil Companies in search of oil and gas in Malaysia and abroad. With the recent good discoveries and proven reserves of oil and gas in East and West Malaysia, it is expected in the near future, the fabrications and maintenance services opportunities will be increased. In anticipation of these demands, Mushtari has embarked on an expansion program to cater for these needs, targeted at upstream and downstream activities.
The current projections are very favorable, in view of Mushtari having secured maintenance contracts with few a multi-national companies on a long term basis.
Mushtari Vision
Mushtari has been a major offshore fabricator and plant maintenance services contractor for more than 20 years in this region in providing support to the Oil & Gas industry, and also the pioneer company to operate its operations in Kemaman Supply Base. The company is currently in a re-structuring stage to upgrade the facilities and equipments to strive for operations excellency to serve the clients better. The workforce consists of a team of dedicated and hardworking personnel, who are well-trained , experienced and qualified to undertake highly complex and technically advance work- scope jobs. The company aims to venture out to Asian and African countries in partnership with the local counterparts when the opportunity arises.
